So, I took the old keyboard that probably comes from Daniel’s (my step father) old computer. It is the old kind of input device with all the bells and whistles one would expect from a Y2K keyboard. It has the soft buttons at the top that can access the sound level, play, pause, rewind,FF, stop, eject, etc. It also has the ubiquitous buttons to access certain applications like Mail and the internet. The former is represented by a shopping cart with a lower case ‘’e’’. This makes me laugh a little because it represents how people of that era thought of the internet. Something to shop with. If theses were made today they’d probably sport facebook, twitter and Reddit buttons, as well as a create new tumblr button that would make a completely new blog at literally, the touch of a button. I also wish to mention the fact that if it were to be marketed to a more NSFW audience, it would include a secret array of buttons (most likely hidden underneath the top strap) that would turn down the volume and connect you to your favorite porn sites. Personally the thing that attracts me the most on this keyboard is the sound it makes when the keys are hit. It makes a heavenly sound that reminds me of the old keyboard I used to have on my familys power PC Macintosh. I spent countless hours on the thing, perusing through the internet or haggling my sisters on MSN (because I didn’t actually have anyone to speak with I just sent them IMs from a few inches away, we had a few computers on a table at our old house). I even remember my mother scolding me for spending too much time on there. One special occasion that comes to mind is a rainy day, back when i could still fit in overalls made of denim and be considered cute. I was playing a game and, since I did not want to leave my virtual world for a second, squeezed my buttocks for hours so as to not have to relieve my bowels. Yep, I remember weird and awkward things. Anyhoot, I really like this keyboard and I think I’m going to keep it for a little while, lest it turn yellow like most plastic (or polymer for you fellows out there who believe there is a difference) of that epoch.
